Guests play free. Anybody invited into an event gets everything the organizer has, for as long as that event runs — no plan, no card, nothing to sign up for. Every new account gets the lot free until 1 January 2027 — the rest of the 2026 season. There is no upsell screen, because nobody has ever enjoyed one.

The short answers
Is this whole "private club" thing serious?
The gravity is not. There is no blazer, there is no waiting list at a mahogany desk, and the Committee is smaller than the word "Committee" suggests. Put your name up and you are in — or better, get brought in by somebody already playing. We built it to feel like a private club because golf groups are private clubs, and then we could not resist the bit. The thing you genuinely cannot buy is a standing invitation to somebody's Saturday game. That one is still on you.
Is The Cut really free?
Somebody brings you in, or you put your name up yourself. Either way Public is free forever for a foursome: Skins and Match Play with presses, live scoring, automatic handicaps, and your rounds kept for good. Member is the season pass at $19.99 a year, and it is free for the rest of the 2026 season — join now and pay nothing until January — every game we have (Scotch with presses and rolls, Wolf, Banker, Hammer, Nines, Nassau), the props, and real tournaments with unlimited events and unlimited golfers, with voice scoring and card scan included. Club is an annual licence for a whole club calendar — priced per club, so ask us — and every member of that club gets Member at half price. And anyone invited into an event plays free as a guest — everything the organizer has, for as long as that event runs.
Does everyone need to install an app?
No. The Cut works in any browser today — everyone scores and follows along from the website on their phone. An iPhone app is coming, and players always join free either way.
How do handicaps work?
Enter each golfer's handicap index once and it's saved for next time, with course handicaps and hole-by-hole stroke allocation figured automatically for whatever tees and format you're playing. Whether the index anyone gave you is accurate remains, as ever, a matter between them and their conscience.
What about the stakes?
The Cut tracks points and units only. Nothing changes hands in the app — how your group settles is your group's business, away from the course. It's a scorekeeper, full stop.
Can people at home watch?
On Member, yes — share one public leaderboard link and anyone follows along live, no login and no app. There's a broadcast board for the clubhouse TV, too.
